Memory :- The C.P.U store data and instruction in its memory. The memory is called internal main or primary memory as it is present inside the computer.

Types of Memory :- there are two types of memory.
1. Primary Memory
2. Secondary Memory

1. Primary Memory :– A memory or cell. This memory is direct access by processor. It is a volatile memory it means if the power is switched off the information store in thismemory are erased.

Types of Primary memory :- There are two types of primary memory.
1. RAM 2. ROM

1. RAM (Random access memory) :- We use this memory to store our data temporarily. When you type a text or figure or an instruction it is first loaded in Ram and then it is moved on for
sub-siquence operation Ram is the volatile memory it means that when switch off your computer. The store data in its lost. Only a limited amount of data can be store in the RAM a time.

Types of RAM :- There are two types of RAM.
1.Static Ram 2. Dynamic Ram

2. ROM (Read only memory) :- Unlike the RAM, ROM is a permanent memory it is called ROM., because a user can only read data from it. ROM is non-volatile memory. It means that the content store ROM does not get
erase even the computer switch off. you can find the important data and instruction dealing with the function of the ROM is store the system software.

Types of ROM :- There are three types of ROM.
1. P.ROM (Programmable Read only memory)
2. EP.ROM (Erasable Programmable Read only memory)
3. EEP.ROM (Electrical Erasable Programmable Read only memory)

2. Secondary Memory :- The secondary memory is called external memory. It is used for storing information that can be needed for a storing information long time. we reqiired the secondary memory. when the
internal storage of computer is not sufficient to store a large amount of data or when we need to transfer data. Secondary memory store large amount of data is permanently. We use various type of storage device
such as HDD, FDD, CD, Pendrive and DVD. As all these device are use external, we all them secondary memory.

Types of Secondary memory :- 1. HDD 2. FDD 3. CD 4. DVD 5. Pendrive.

1. HDD (Hard Disk Drive) :- The main storage device of a computer is Hard Disk. It is fixed inside the C.P.U cabinet and contains all the data instruction information that store in the computer.
Hard disk are made up of in number of hard mental platters hard disk. Data is recorder on both side of each disk.

2. FDD (Floppy Disk Drive) :- A Floppy disk drive also known as data storage device. the floppy are three types, 8 inches, 5.2 inches, 3.2 inches wide. Disk having storage
capacity of 144 MB. It is used to information transfer data between the computer and create small back up.

3. CD (Compact Disk) :- A CD is a thin circular disk with a hole in a centre. It is reflective metal coding places and can store of “650-750 MB of data” we can store text file, graphics, music file, image and
video in a CD. CD ROM is called because be can not write it again. Once we have store some information and data. It can not be deleted from a CD ROM. But a CD read and write can be recorded and written many types.

4. DVD (Digital Versatile Disk ) :- A DVD is also known as optical storage device similiar to a CD in same look and size but can storage much large amount of data. the storage capacity of DVD is “4-7-17 GB (Gega bite)”. It
is generally used to and record movies with high video and sound quality. It can also store still photo and large of other data.

5. Pendrive :- A Pendrive is also called “Flash Drive” is a mini USB (universal series bus) drive or a “Pocket Drive”. Pendrive is a very small in size and light weight data cable, rewritable and portable to copy or read data from pendrive just plug into the
USB interface of the computer. So it plug device used for copying and moving data from one computer to anyother computer. A USB can store data from “1-64 GB but support the 32 GB”.
